Kind people in Lima

When I am in town, I am always cautious and alert.
But sometimes, I feel happy to meet someone friendly and kind to me.

A salesgirl at a doughnut shop gave me a small fried daughnut, telling me it is free!
A man helped me to order a softdrink at a food stand.
And a policeman spoke to me when I took a rest sitting on a bench.

It was when I visited "Larco Mar" on the beach where you can enjoy beautiful view of pacific ocean when the weather is fine.
This place is new and has lots of fastfood restaurant, shops and movie theater, etc., like the "DECKS" in Odaiba in Tokyo.
Unfortunatelly, it was very cloudy and freezing cold there, so I thought to walk back to the hotel.
Then, a friendly policeman (policia) spoke to me in Spanish.
As I could not understand what he said, I pointed the phrase "no pasa nada (all right)" in my Spanish conversation book.
He laughed and started reading though my guidebook.
Arent you on the duty now???
He seemed to try to tell me something, but I just could not get him at all and we both got confused.
After 10 minutes or so, he found the proper phrases in my book at last and pointed them out for me.

"Pare usted aqui, por favor." (Please stay here.)
"Vamos a comer fuera." (Lets go out for dinner together.)

ALL RIGHT!
This is, so called, "Nanpa"!

I said "promesa, amigo, hotel (promise, friend, hotel)" to him, trying to tell him that I have an appointment with my friend who is waiting for me at the hotel (it was a lie, of course).
Then, he wrote down his name and email address and handed me the small piece of paper.
I said "Gracias. Adios, hasta luego. (Thank you. Good bye, see you later."

Well, is a policeman allowed to pick a girl up while he is on the duty??
It is juuuuust like the South America!!
However, this is something pleasant for me as it is the first time I was asked to date since I got married!

But, he missed one important thing...
Even if we did dinner together, we could not communicate each other anyway!
